Transformers Prime CG Animated, Kurtzman & Orci To Serve as Exec Producers

I will agree that the US Spiderman show was crap. I will also agree that the Japanese version was amuzing in a very bad B-Movie kinda way. The 400 year old alien from planet spider just happened to get trapped in a cave and attacked by spiders...

Could they just spider up the spider parts of the spiders there, with maybe some more spiders?

Think KickPuncher

The part thats messed up is that there, it's far less laughable :wtf

Case in point

Japan is very capable, but still Japan. I prefer the story telling in American hands. If I had my choice, Japan would outline the plot, Americans would flesh it out.

I say that with no offense to the other parts of the world, if you have something to contribute...

Well, these guys do Fringe, so I can't see how they could fuck up Transformers. Then again... ROTF.

JMO, but Fringe is riddled with the just as many horrible leaps of logic and plot inconsistencies as ROTF and TF 2007 were.

These guys are good writers but terrible story tellers. I hope I am wrong and Prime is good. :tfpwn

Yeah but at least they have spirit! While those "shark jumping" logic points don't work out too well in real world setting in stories like Fringe, this is fitting for fantasy comic book type stuff like Transformers.

Producing, not writing. Leaves alot of room to wonder.

It's clear that they love Transformers (why they left Bay because he sucks) so they will put that into their work. I'm guessing they will be what they are on Fringe; Consulting Producers.

Has everyone forgotten the herky-jerky movements of the last two CG Transformers? Energon and Cybertron?

I wouldn't call it herky-jerky personally. They moved like something worse...robots.

Herky-jerky is right. If they could make a CG TF that looked like that Final Fantasy movie that came out a few years back............now that would be goooood!

Just speculating, but connecting the dots here. Two movie writers, plus CG animation, plus the title has me thinking we're getting some sort of story about the Prime legacy from the Movie-verse. They touched on it in ROTF, maybe the new toon will show a bunch of short stories based on previous Primes as well as the original? We've heard one human name, General Fowler, so it will at least take place partially in the present, but with a title like "Prime" at least one of them will be the primary focus.

I just did some research, and these guys have also written for Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. I really enjoyed those shows. Whatever kind of show Transformers Prime may be like. I hope its good enough for me to actually want to spend money to buy the series. Besides G1, Beast Wars, and the Movies no other Transformers series has impressed me. Sure I like the other shows, but I could careless about seeing them 10 years or 20 years from now like I would for G1, Beast Wars, and the Movies.

And sorry to harp on this, but...neither of the Bay TF films compare to the sheer depth of Fringe, IMHO. :D

I won't argue with you. My wife loves it. I TRY to like it and it get's going okay till they overdose someone with LSD to send them to another dimension or buildings travel between parallel universes. All I can do is :rofl and my wife kicks me out of the room.

For fans who care, those kinds of gaffs are quite hard to over look. The Fallen and the Primes in ROTF were just two of the horrendous liberties taken. I cannot imagine Hasbro asking them to change course after that baloney sold more toys than the first movie.

AGAIN, I hope I am wrong. :tfpwn

This is one hell of a turn of events!?!

Maybe they liked TFs but got tired of Bay? Either way it is a good indication that the next series won't be more kiddie fluff like Animated.

I thought Animated was far better written, thought out, and mature (in the sense of making kids read between the lines, remember plotlines, and actually having good characterization) then the movies. Animated was the most intelligent TF series since BW, so if that's kiddie fluff, give me more fluff! If Kurtzman & Orci bring their "Star Trek" game to the table and not thier ROTF one, the series will be worth watching. Otherwise, this will be the second TF series I can't finish.

You guys are forgetting that Orci and Kurtzman are exec producers. They won't be the ones writing the dialogue. They might have some creative input, but it won't be their hands on the keyboard.

I am a fan of Fringe and Orci and Kurtzman as a whole. Sure they have written some awful scripts (although you can only give them 2/3s of the credit for the bad RoTF script) but they also wrote Alias, and like previously pointed out, Hercules and Xena, which had some good storytelling.

Also, Beast Wars may look bad NOW, but that show, along with Mainframe's other shows like ReBoot, were ahead of its time in the 90s. Beast Machines furthered their awesomeness with shadows, which was one of the first CG shows to feature it.
