Transformers #3 Review

Having found its footing last month the Transformers ongoing holds firm in its third installment. Both in good and not so good ways. Moving forward with the toned down faces this title is coming into its own, but this issue has a little more function than form.

I don't care how good the story gets, I hate that artwork. I feel like my G1 TFs have been violated. Please, let's keep the Movie designs separate. They can rot in their own section of TF lore.

I'm a HUGE G1 fan.....and i like the art. It's not bad artwork. I absolutely hate the movie designs but this hybrid style isn't bad to me. The faces mind you leave something to be desired but all in all it looks great to me....I like your post though....sure live up to your name....brilliant.Gave me a good chuckle

Ok, I don't mind the body designs. I take extreme objection to the faces. They look lifeless. There is no emotion.

This "hybrid" style is killing me. Until it goes, I won't be buying a single issue of this ongoing series.

I'm probably in the minorty in not hating the art work. I actually like it. I agree with the faces looking strange, but in a way I prefer it to the bland look of the G1 faces.

THe only thing I don't like about the art work is how Hot Rod looks. I really dislike/hate that design.

As for this issue...I found it kind of empty. Because of Bumblebee #1 the whole Ultra Magnus part was already reveiled. Think it would've been better if issue #3 had been released before the first issue of the Bumblebee series.

(And I still think its stupid that Bumblebee is the new leader. In Furman's -tion series the Autobots had a clear military hierarchy and Bumblebee was pretty low ranking. In every army the rule is that if the commanding officer is captured/killed, the next highest ranking takes over.)

EDIT: that picture of Swindle... it reminds me of that Buddy Christ statue :)

I agree about the Bumblebee series. since they're running Ongoing into Bumblebee, and Bumblebee back into Ongoing, I don't see why they don't run it every other month as a double-sized issue, with Ongoing being story A, and Bumblebee being Story B (or vice versa), depending on how the story flow goes.
