Review: ROTF Dirge Figure

Blitz-Wing

Recommended Posts

I was waiting on some sort of a review before thinking of whether or not to buy this one. After reading the review and getting to see some really nice pics, I must say that I really like the design of this figure! This is one that I could see myself enjoying for the aesthetics and engineering.

Nice review BW! I actually wasn't sure on this guy, now i am. Tuner Mudflap i can do without, Alliance BB looks cool though deco wise.

The head has 360 degree rotation at the neck. No ball joint or anything though.

Hopefully BlitzWing see's this post, as thats a BIG difference to not having known it does. This fact right here makes me even MORE excited for him. Bought as soon as i see the damn guy! Him, Mindwipe, Skystalker, & Bludgeon, Ratchet & Lockdown are lookin pretty good.

But im more excited to hear whats coming in 2010 LATER in the year. Hopefully more G1 releases, along with G1 classics again and maybe something cool out of the upcoming PCC line as well. Oh yeah, MP Grimlock hits the states this year!! :party

I'll have to look again. It could be my head was stuck. However, after trying to budge it a couple of times I took for granted it was stationary due to the pop up chest in the transform.

I really like this figure. It has a unique tranformation from all the other jets. I don't really mind the False cockpit in the chest in a Deluxe figure. If it were a Voyager or Leader Class it would be different. I didn't like the cockpit on the arm, but after looking at it, I appreciate the engineering and design to make him unique. Unfortunately, I've already been reminded that Thrust has already come out, so repaints for this mold would only be Ramjet, but I don't think the Harrier Jet fits him like it does Dirge. I wish they wouldn't have made Thrust from the Breakaway mold and waited to use this one. Oh well. :shrug

I have seen this figure all over the place. I didn't get paid yet, so I've had to painfully wait until the funds are there. I am also going to pick up ArmorHide, which I really like too. :ohyeah

Nice Review. The only thing I would say would improve it would be a size comparison photo just to give size relativity.

He will be bought today! :tfdance

Must be nice to have an area where figures come out first get to you, in my area we have to wait a few extra weeks, if not month or two. BUT its getting better as the years pass. 2 years ago, things were 3 months behind unless it was an official street date for an opening line. Via Transformers, Spiderman 2, Ironman ect.

well, move to civilization :P

I use to stay in Vermont alot. I'm glad it was in a period of my life where I wasn't collecting anything cause outside of peace and quite, there was NOTHING!!!

Going to Brattleboro was the closest ting to real life there was, and even that sucked. It was cool that they had a waterfall in the middle of mainstreet though.

Well Burlington, where i used to reside and profit from, is WAY cool! But i no longer live there. I AM currently looking for a place, so i suppose if i was smart i could live there again. But its not on the cards. B-town, as the call it, has all the proper stores bar Target. Which could be there as well now too.

I shop in Barre or New Hampshire. On an unrelated note, i bought GIjoe ROC last night in Leb N.H., as well as MP Skywarp for $50 bones!! :D

Burington is a city actually, and even has celebritys ;)

:wat

Is it on clearance or sale? It is still $60 by me and there are a lot of them. I'm buying another one if they do...heck I'll buy a few of them if they are $40 - $50. I hate to say it, but they are excellent for parts. :thumb

Picked up Dirge earlier tonight. I think I'm gonna remove the springs and glue the missles in on mine, since they're a tad sensitive. (That or Dirge wants me dead.)

He's a nifty figure, but I wish they could of done something better with the arm articulation.
