Review of Spotlight: Drift

Spotlight: Drift is an excellent one shot comic. The only problems it has are contextual, so in the interest in a pure review of the comic itself, let's save the contextual issues for the next section in which we will take a closer look at Drift and his emerging place in the IDW Transformer Universe.

You said you werent keen on new blood being a super-hero-esque character but pretty much all the original bots were superheros. Brawn had super strength, Windcharger is magneto in disguise, Shockwave is super intelligent, Blurr has super speed, etc. Why is it so hard to buy in on an ancient sword? Is it any harder to believe that Prime has an ancient magical orb in his chest all this time?

/edit: Oh and I liked the comic. Drift is cool and the villain should be a toys aswell, he was great. ^^

Well, by definition robots, and doubly so, Giant Robots, are super heroesque. What I take issue with is a relative level of super hero-ness.

 

Drift seems like he could kick the skidplates of most of the G1 cast with one arm tied behind his back.

 

And things like the magical orb are hard to buy, but having ONE in the chest of the LEADER and arguably MAIN CHARACTER of the entire line, is different than giving it to a brand new out of no-where character.
