TF2: ROTF Teaser Trailer - Updated w/ Screen Caps!

Does anybody still actually believe this movie is still about The Fallen and not Megatron.

I still don't think it's either/or.

Who do you suspect is the character on the teaser poster?

I don't know anymore? All the Egyptian stuff seems to make a lot of sense and is in line with a lot of what we've been hearing about the Fallen but I for one don't see how it all fits in.

We've already got confirmation of Devestator, Megatron, Soundwave, and Jetfire being featured so where does the Fallen fit in. Obviously everything in the trailer happens at the beginning so maybe Megatron gets obliterated or something before the second half when everyone's in Egypt to make room for this supposed Fallen character. It's safe to say we haven't seen anything in Egypt yet so it's anybodies guess what happens at that point.

I just really hope this doesn't end up being Prime and Megatron battling the Fallen or something stupid like that.

I think the full length trailer in a week or whenever will answer a lot more questions as well as reveal a lot more.

This movie is going to be huge and Bay wasn't kidding we haven't seen anything yet.

Perhaps, after being revived, Megatron's plot through the whole film is to get to Egypt and awaken the Fallen to kick Autobot ass?

Which sounds lame when reduced to a single sentence, but it also sounds like a plot right out of the G1 cartoon, so I'd forgive it.

Maybe. It could be Megatron's fall back plan after the allsparks been destroyed.

I just find it strange how none this has any connection to the first film whatsoever. How is Megatron even aware of the Fallen if he was supposed to be that was evil.

Does this mean Soundwave is a minion of the Fallen and not Megatron?

Maybe they're both from Planet X or something. :tflaugh

Yeah, that bot at the end isn't Devastator - it's just one of his constituents.

I also imagine that his monowheeled design came about for much the same reason as Starscream's 'chicken legs' - when you deal with a robot of that size, it becomes very difficult to keep it on screen in a meaningful way (compare and contrast with G1, where the virtual camera always seems to be at robot head level). The fact that the monowheel joins not with his waist, but his chest (in fact, practically with his head) suggests that everything was done to create a creature that was as broad as possible.

Doesn't change the fact that politely, ILM seem to be determined to drive as far away as humanly possible from the more humanoid designs of G1. I know, I know - this kind of stuff turned up in Beast Machines, and there is twenty-five years of franchise of which only a small portion is G1, etc. etc. etc. Doesn't change the fact that when one draws on source material, that the question of how 'true' one is to said source is going to be raised.

Then again, Bay's vision resulted in incredible amounts of money for everyone involved, so obviously he's got some idea of what he's doing here.

And that little Audi sequence was pretty sweet. :)

That big Transformer has to be Scorponok! I saw it's eyes as the scene was rolling. And those arms look more like his G1 arms. It had to have grown from it's smaller size in part 1. From the scripts that is probably fake, I thought Mikaila was supposed to have been believed to be dead, but since she was crying, maybe Sam is the one that lands on Starscream and is thought to be dead. I guess we gotta wait til it comes out

That earlier plot synopsis seems to have no bearing on what the actual movie will be about. It mentioned finding allspark fragments and mentioned nothing about Egypt. I would just try to forget about it.

Oh yeah, Im SO in for this movie!

I absolutely LOVE the big one wheeled guy. I hear all the naysayers poo pooing this design since it deviates from teh geewun gudness, but lets face it: This guy's role isnt gonna be another Swindle, where he's a negotiator or a smart guy. His job is to slide his ass up in somewhere, go tear-assing around on his unicycle thingy and f&ck some sh!t up. He doesnt need legs or a body, just that big wheel thats narrow enough to squeeze onto a highway but tall enough to plow thru an overpass, some big monkey arms to grab and smash everything in site, and just enough noggin to know where he's going and what he's breaking.

And while we're on that guy, I wouldnt be surprised if Devi isnt anything like a humanoid shape. He's all huge and his job is to ruin someone's weekend, so why would he need a bipedal humanoid shape? He might have like 2 of these same giant ass wheels up front with a smaller one out back, and like 4 arms and multiple heads or something. Which would be pure ballz.

I really dont think that Audi guy is Barricade at all. A whole new design is an opportunity to intro a whole new character so thats what I think is gonna go down. I mentioned it in another thread, but I really, REALLY hope its Sunstreaker, since we already have Sideswipe as another silver supercar. For 2 brothers on opposite sides of the 'Bot/'Con war is just too good an idea to pass up. And since the trailer shows yet another scene with him and Arcee, Im thinking maybe thats some kind of score thats gonna get settled one way or another.

A whole new design for Barricade is also a bunch more money in toy sales for Hasbro. I'd bet my left ball it's him.

WOW alot to comment on, but here's a few things that seem to have gone overlooked.

1st . those are obviously protoforms falling onto the aircraft carrier, so my guess is SS went back after the fall of megs to get his seeker buddies(hoping)

2nd. hoping they stick to SS's character a bit he wouldn't wait to try and overthrow earth, whether he could or not. and noone ever said the decepticons were "all for one" types. he will probably have his own agenda regardless.

3rd. soundwave was always more of a "megatron fanboy" he'd revive megs in a heartbeat. not to mention having him as a "fallen" lacky would make sense.

4th.ravage looks sweet, where's the alt mode?

seriously doubt that the truck is Wheelie as I remember reading somewhere that it is Wheelie that discovers Jetfire in the museum in his SR-71 mode and aint no way an ice cream truck would be able to fit. Also, thanks for tossing up all the mining vehicles that you did. Yes, they do come in ultimate-size as shown in the one with the Cat 'Dozer stuck in the turning wheel of the land-mover. That is an actual image of an "Oops" that happened in a strip-mining site in Germany.

Whoever the head baddie is in this movie, I am pretty sure that we wont find out for a while yet. The trailer should be good for some more shiny though, and about thirty pages of more speculation.

I'm not sure about the whole Fallen suspicions as the teaser poster image...someone about 500 comments back made a good case that it's a stylized Decepticon symbol modeled into a face, which I tend to agree with. But on a more related note (to this trailer)...I just watched that ending a couple hundred times more, and noticed that the big guy starts out in the first frame of the cut with his front wheel popped up (obstructing his head)...think Bat Out of Hell album cover! As he lowers that wheel, sending it smashing into the bridge, we start to see the head rise out of the debris. Then we see the back wheel begin to rotate up behind his head, while he's doing the balancing act on the front 'limb'...this dude can rotate the whole upper torso between either of the two wheels or just low ride on both! Also, compared it with the earlier shot of him smashing the helicopter...I think the first movements that we see may be the end of his transformation...hope I'm not repeating anyone else's comments...just can't stop thinking about this particular giant f*#&ing robot! Apologies if so...
