Non-Marvel #78.5 - The Last Quest

The Transformers: Seeds Of Deception and Transformers: The Lost Seasons projects present the final act of Non-Marvel 78.5: The Last Quest.

On an apparently dying Cybertron, wrapped in a “nuclear” winter caused by the aftershocks of Unicron’s defeat, two unlikely allies travel to find the key to the planet’s salvation.
They are the not-yet ActionMasters known as Rollout and Charger… an Autobot and a Decepticon!

In Act 2, their quest finally leads them to a lost temple whose architecture looks quite familiar. And an even more familiar face is waiting for them–but wasn’t HE supposed to be dead?

This 11-pages story takes place between G1 Marvel US #78 and #79, filling some gaps left by the rushed conclusion of the original series. More “behind the scenes” in the commentary to each page: check them out to learn how Simon Furman’s work is at the base of this extra issue!

Very stoked to be posting here. I have been watching and reading this forum for months. I started collecting movie toys for my son, then saw what you guys were doing with customizations and thought it was one of the coolest things I had ever seen.

I instantly started reading about how you guys were doing them, and looking at some of the fkn AMAZING results you guys were getting, and started painting myself. It has been like 6 months of trying different paints, different methods, and reading reading reading here and a couple of other forums. And finally, I have done a couple of customs that I think may be worthy of your guys time, but maybe not, and we will see icon_smile.gif

For this custom I wanted something very close to the TF Prime series Nemisis Prime. I wanted it to be show accurate, with the faded colors and darker overall look, but I also wanted it to be somewhat like the Takara figure as well. I finally found my candidate in Dark Energon Prime. I took the head off a regular voyager RID Prime, double guns from Dr. Wu, and Spaz Stix Chrome on them.

This guy is still red and blue underneath the darker hue as to be very show accurate in my mind. I took a photo or two in the sun outside so you could see how he looks when the light hits him and his under colors really come out. Anyways, let me know what you guys think as I want to see if I am finally getting better at this lol. Thank you everyone for looking and very proud to be a member here icon_smile.gif

Let me know if you guys like him, thanks :)

Generations Leader Class Tarn

16 Dec 2014

Posted by autobotx23 in Custom Repaints and Kitbashes

Tarn is the leader of the Decepticon Justice Division, a group of Decepticons tasked by Megatron to hunt down traitors to the Decepticon cause. I usually don't create Decepticons, as I'm a big fan of the Autobots. But if you've been reading the current IDW Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye comic (You TOTALLY should be!), you know that Tarn is a unique character. Eclectic, intelligent and sadistic. I liken him to great villains like Hannibal Lector from Silence of the Lambs. Even though he's fearful and intimidating, your intrigued by his personality and, in some ways, his nobility. As well as his addiction to transforming and classical music. No to mention this evil bastard can actually TALK his victim to death.

Tarn was created from Marvel Crossovers Hulk, Energon Bulkhead, Human Alliance Jazz and DotM Deluxe Class Ratchet. His head, dual fusion cannon, shin covers and feet were CAD drafted and 3D printed. His cannon contains 2 purple LEDs and his head contains a single red LED. Both have independent switches and power supplies. Tarn stands 8.05" tall from head to foot and 10.25" tall from cannon tips to feet. Additional leg articulation added at the knee, mid-shin and ankle make him very poseable. Combined with his 3-part ratcheting and adjustable 360º/ 180º/ 90º shoulder joints and 360º/ 90º rotating elbows give him a wide range of options when sitting him on your display shelf. Now available on eBay.

Making The Grade (Part 1) - TFSource Article

16 Dec 2014

Posted by Maz in Transformers Toy Discussion
These days, invariably, you will find good condition factory sealed vintage Generation 1 Transformers preserved, immortalised, imprisoned, desecrated (delete as appropriate) in an acrylic display case, with a grade attached. The AFA – or Action Figure Authority – grade toys like Transformers be they factory sealed, opened and unused or even loose. Everyone has an opinion on this, from not keeping toys sealed at all to downright hatred of the AFA and the culture behind grading Transformers, specifically the ‘authority’ part and the implication that the AFA are experts. The other side of the coin is that collectors use the grading process to confirm what they already knew about the quality of their specimen, and are after preservation of the toys only. It’s really not as black and white as we may think.
All the best
