Matrix Workshop Gamer Edition Upgrade Kits for Transformers Studio Series

Matrix Workshop is not playing around with the news of their Gamer Edition Upgrades for the Transformers Studio Series Wave 1 figures. The new packs including M-88 for Optimus Prime, M-89 for Bumblebee, and the M-90 for Barricade add somewhat redundant gun and sword / axe weapons to these figure. Okay so they made new guns and they DON'T have 5mm handles to be used normally? That's literally the only reason why someone would get a new gun for these figures. The sword for BB isn't needed. It's cheaper and easier to just paint the one he comes with. The axe for Prime doesn't look any better overall. Sure it has a three segment handle for those who might have wanted that, were there anyone who wanted that? Regardless it just means that it's more parts that will have paint rubbing off of and be prone to breaking or be warped. At least Barricade's sword looks interesting but who was asking for one for him? I have several large baggies and a large flat rate box filled with extra weapons that I can take from if I wanted something extra for Barricade. Oh and three totes filled with CW/UW/PotP/GS combiners with extra weapons I gave to them to pull from as well.

I guess we should congratulate Matrix Workshop on making one of the most useless and least sold "upgrade" sets ever. If ever there was a use for that Bart Simpson meme with the "At least you tried" cake being trashed it would be for this.
