Marvel Comics artist Don Perlin, responsible for more than twenty issues of the original Transformers comic, is recovering from an operation to correct bleeding in his head - an operation which necessitated the installation of a titanium plate. While Perlin recuperates from the operations, he is plagued by the lack of retirement funds or healthcare plan faced by all our comic creators, who were treated as freelancers.
