If you were looking for a Transformers gift set that includes Transformers Reveal the Shield redecos of Deluxes G2 Optimus Prime and Jazz, and Legends Starscream and Optimus Prime, you may be in luck this Fall. The Legends Starscream will be redecorated as Thundercracker and Optiumus Prime will be redecorated as Motormaster. The image posted by Toys2Mail Station on the shop's Facebook page provides some art mock-ups of the two redecorated characters that appear to be true to their Generation 1 counterparts. The four figures will be available in an Ultimate Gift Set that is advertised as being a Walmart exclusive. Read the Full News Story Here

Easy pass. Jazz looks cool and Motormaster not being larger then a Legion is disappointing.

Kind of an odd mix to be calling "Ultimate", but I'll give it a look.

Oh goodie goodie its a walmart exclusive again.

If no one remembers, hasbro did a series of "ultimate giftsets" last year for walmart. If I remember correctly there was a marvel one, beyblade one, star wars one, and the transformers one. All of them was set at a 30$ pricepoint with the idea they was a all around good selection of toys from a toyline and would be a easy way for uninformed relatives to get a kid something they would like for a reasonable amount of cash. I guess the concept was somewhat a success and they have decided to do it again this year.

As far as the off pairing of size classes, my only guess is that hasbro figures last years set would had been more popular if relatives thought there was more "value" to the set by including two big figures and two smaller figures instead of last years mix of 2 cyberverse commanders and 3 cyberverse legion figures.

If they can manage to pull the 30$ pricepoint last years set was then count me in for 2. :tflaugh

Oh goodie goodie its a walmart exclusive. I guess "Ultimate Giftset" is what walmart is going to call their holiday giftset from now on, after all last years giftset was called the same thing, you know the one with cyberverse Green Powerglide, dark optimus, bb, sideswipe, and crowbar.

If they can manage to pull the 30$ pricepoint last years set was then count me in for 2. XD

The thing i love about Walmart TF store exclusives. is they more than often go on sale & get clearanced.

Its usually because of bad timing. My walmart did not get the giftset until a week or two before christmas. :S

With a few minor paint apps you could have a rather nice scourge. ;)

Sigh. This would have been a perfect outlet for the Scourge repaint of G2 Prime, but no, Hasbro had to let FunPub have it. :emo But at least we'll get one version of the mold at regular retail finally.

    • If you've not had your fill of Transformers collaborative news today, here is some more with a leaked product listing for the Project Knight: Transformers X Knight Rider crossover. We've been dreaming of this one, and it appears a transforming K.I.T.T. will be coming as soon as August! It must be something big and or special with a $49. - Read the Full News Story

    • EDIT 2: Okay, I think my real problem with this was the marketing image. The main image shows four robot turtles standing together, so I was ready for four toys, not one. Admittedly, I was so disappointed that I did not bother to read the article fully. That's my fault. I apologize. That said, now that I understand it is THE van that turns into a robot, not "robot versions of the four turtles," that makes more sense, but I don't get the four heads. There are images here of a bandana free head which I gather is not included. I would actually prefer a non-specific generic turtle head for the robot. I think that would remove a lot of confusion. At least for me. EDIT 1: My bad, I misunderstood. It's one toy with swappable heads. So, you made a thing based on a four member team, and you only want to sell one toy? You're not even trying to get people to "Collect all FOUR!" You do understand how toy sales work, right? Original Comment: This is a perfectly fine idea executed TERRIBLY. You made four unique toys, each specific to each of the Ninja Turtles, that all turn into the same vehicle? It would be one thing if they joined together to form the van. There have been transformer sets like that before. This is just wasted opportunity. Not to mention, that van exists for the turtles to ride in together as a team, so if they can turn into vehicles ... what do they need a van for? I get that that's their van, and that's cute and all, but ... this is just dumb and disappointing. Why not think about what kind of car each of them would drive based on their personalities, or ask some car company if they want to do a tie-in promotional? What do I want with four copies of the same van and no one to ride in any of them? It makes no sense.
