Just ahead of BotCon 2011 where Hasbro, Inc will unveil the rest of the Transformers Dark of the Moon toyline, we have details on Wave 4 of the Mechtech Deluxe line. The new figures in this wave are Buzzard, Cyberfire Bumblebee, and Specialist Ratchet. This is only the second time we have come across the name Buzzard, the first time was in a Walmart computer. We have not seen any images of the figure, unfortunately, but hopefully we will at BotCon, starting tomorrow! Read the Full News Story Here

Well the instructions to Lazerbeak showed an new head sculpt so I was ready for that. Oh and I will buy that Ratchet. Funny how Ratchet gets a red repaint before Ironhide.....:tfevil

:wtf another BB...sheesh...that's what 5 BB molds now? Come on already...

Oooo...Hatchet look pretty damn smooth.

So it looks like they're gonna swap around MechTech weapons for repaints (aka Specialist Ratchet will get Skids' weapon). And c'mon, you can give Ratchet a red repaint but not Ironhide?

On a plus side, I'm kind of digging Hatchet but need better pics to be sure.

It would seem that the rest of this line is going to be a nightmare of repaint hell! I think with economies still being down, we're going to see less original molds and more repaints, at least for awhile. For the record I think it's a BAAAAD idea!

It's the laws of business that say, any product that doesn't actually surpass it's predecessor is considered a failure or a loss...even if it did make money, if it didn't meet the 'goal' then it's failing...REPAINT! And they'll keep repainting, especially figures that sold the worst originally. Gotta recoup that "loss!"

Problem is, that line of success gets higher and higher to the point where it simply can't be reached...yet it will still be considered as failing if it's not met. That's the mindset of businesses. If something is not earning more, it fails. As well or slightly less is simply not acceptable.

I think that's where the repaints come again, and again, and again. Sure, sometimes it's popular figures too, but there's 2 ends to the repaint spectrum. Any figures that don't sell a high enough number of units may keep getting repainted until it did!

....I could be wrong though.

I haven't picked up a Ratchet since the first Voyager from the first movie but I'll be getting this one.

I totally agree about the red Ironhide repaint though. I haven't gotten any version of Ironhide yet because I've been holding out for a red one.
