New Images of Toy Hobby Exclusive Gentei Dark Skyfire

Thanks to "反冲" of ACToys, we have new images of Toy Hobby Market's exclusive Gentei! Dark Skyfire figure. The Classics Jetfire-based figure is set for a March release by the Japanese retailer. oh Dark Skyfire, how i am indifferent toward you.

 

let me list the ways,

 

1. you're yet another black repaint

2. youre a redeco of Skyfire/Jetfire,and i already have two of you

3. youre a prohibitively expensive japanese exclusive

4. even if i cared that you look a tad like skywarp, i already have a masterpeice i got for $30

5. youve never appeared in any fiction

6. youre an homage to a scotch SR-71

7. why do you exist?

8. you have no chrome parts

9. you cant even be used as a shattered glass jetfire because youre a decepticon (ok, thats a bit of a stretch but hey ive got a list of 8 other valid points!)

 

in closing, i would like to add: YAWN, BORING, HO-HUM, and HOW DROLL

I love how every toy MUST be rereleased in black, and then they charge you 3 times the price. I'll admit, I'm a sucker for Black Optimus Primes, but THAT'S ABOUT IT!! For the love...

The Dark Skyfire originates from the 8th Episode of the 1st season, of the G1 cartoon "Fire on the Mountain"

at 15 mins in, you see Starscream and Thundercracker carrying in a damaged Skyfire. for about 5 seconds he's in black/purple Skywarp colors, before reverting to his usual red/white color scheme. It's most likely an animation error due to the animators just being used to drawing Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker together.
